I’ve always loved peeking into a snow globe scene. Imagine breaking down a scene, similar to a layered background scene for a theatre production – but in a book…Voila! The Tunnel Book! The viewer looks through a series of panels, connected by concertinas, which expand to show more of a scene. The openings for the first panel can start off wide gradually getting smaller or the cut out opening can stay a consistent size focusing on different sections of the panel.
Last month, I took a Tunnel Book workshop with Alice Austin, a local Philly printer and book artist, through the Guild of Book Workers.
Check out what my fellow book artists from the workshop created!
I'm busy working on my blog posts. Watch this space!
